It is a nice tradition for the Hagen police to get involved at Christmas time and also think of people who find themselves in a difficult life situation. That's why there was once again a Christmas tree in the foyer of the police headquarters in Funckestraße, which was decorated with wish lists from children and young people from the Agnesheim Funckenhausen. 72 wishes were fulfilled as part of this year's christmas campaign.
The children and young people at the Agnesheim made tags with wishes in advance for the campaign. The residents of the home's residential groups, some of whom have already experienced very difficult fates in their young lives, wrote down a wide variety of wishes. The 9 to 21-year-olds also wrote down small, everyday things such as sweets, fairy lights, care products and toys. The response from Hagen police was overwhelming. Numerous employees took care of the wish lists, lovingly bought the desired gifts and wrapped them up for Christmas.
The handover to the Agnesheim took place on December 18 in a festive atmosphere. Authority manager Ursula Tomahogh, accompanied by the pressoffice, took the opportunity to hand over the gifts on behalf of the employees of the authority. The shining eyes of the recipients made the success of the campaign clear. The gifts are then unwrapped together in the residential groups on Christmas Eve. "This campaign is a special project close to our hearts every year. It's wonderful to see how much joy we can bring to the children and young people," emphasized Authority manager Ursula Tomahogh. "The wish tree shows that humanity and solidarity are particularly important at Christmas time - values that the Hagen police also embody."
With this pre-Christmas effort, Hagen police are showing that community and charity are a matter of course, even outside of everyday work.
